Matters
Services
At Housing Matters we provide intensive case management services to build relationships that can foster individual growth. Implementing evidence based practices in our strategy to working with others is critical in achieving success. Some of the practices and philosophies that we implement in our work are; Motivational Interviewing techniques, recognizing the Stages of Change, utilizing a Harm Reduction approach, as well as understanding mental health, chemical health, and physical health barriers that can create serious difficulties for people in our community. We recognize that each person has a different set of skill sets and goals, but that everyone has a right to be provided with tools and resources to realize them. We believe that cyclical poverty, chemical health, and institutionalized racism have all played roles which have resulted in the current landscape of mental health, substance use, and its' relation to homelessness.
